The iPhone XS Max review
Digital playground com: Apple’s iPhone X S Max is the best new iPhone smartphone ever, but we’ve got to say, there’s a lot to like.
Digital playground com is one of our favourite places to pick up new tech, and Apple’s latest iPhone X models has been an absolute delight for us.
It’s also one of the first models we’ve seen to be powered by a new “iCarbon”, which uses the company’s own proprietary battery and wireless charging technology to deliver a whole lot of power to a phone that weighs around 1kg (2.9lbs).
It sounds like a lot, but Apple says the phone has a maximum power of 3,200mW, with a 3,000mAh battery that can last for up to two hours, which is a very good feat for an iPhone, and a step up from the 3,300mAh battery found on its iPhone 7 models.
The biggest draw for us, though, is the fact that the iPhone Xs Max is a super-thin smartphone, with its 5.9-inch (152mm) screen and 0.5mm thickness that is significantly thinner than the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus.
At 5.7mm (1.27 inches) and 0,7mm thick, the iPhone 8 Max is slightly taller than the 6 Plus, but it’s also noticeably thinner.
There are some really noticeable differences, too.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are both 4.7 inches (110mm) and 1.8 inches (30mm) thick, respectively, and they’re both 5.2mm (3.1 inches) thick at the edges.
But while the iPhone 10 Plus is taller, its thickness is lower, and its display is a little bigger, and the iPhone 11 is taller and wider, too, but its screen is a tad thinner.
